Helping the volunteer

Earlier this week I got involved with a organized group of volunteers flying relief supplies from GNV to the Florida Panhandle.  I provide the airplane, pilot and the fuel and made 4 trips in 2 days.  One flight went to MAI where the lovely FBO ladies chipped in and helped unload and gas up, a great stop.  The destination on 3 flights was A51, Port St. Joe.  It is "next door" to Mexico Beach.  The only reason I did these flights was because I wanted to help my "neighbors".  I asked for nothing but I received my reward for my efforts in the smiles and gratitude of those who received the supplies.  It was great!
It would have been nice if the FBOs closest to Mexico Beach could have seen fit to cut the volunteers a little slack on the already high fuel prices.  I don't mean to sound ungrateful but 25 cents per gallon off the FS price of $5.65 is not exactly going overboard.  When the mess is cleaned up and life resumes I know where I won't be stopping by for gas.
