Follow along as we go behind the logbook with two student pilots and AOPA employees, Emily and Brittany, who are working toward their first solos! With no aviation background at all, these two young women were introduced to flying by their instructors, which makes for an interesting perspective and, sometimes, awkward moments. On this episode of Behind the Logbook supported by Sporty's Pilot Shop, Emily and Brittany take their first leaps into the sky!

This is a lot of fun to watch. The look at Emily's face when she takes off is priceless.

I met Emily and a lot of the AOPA crew at AirVenture 2017. What an outstanding group of people.

In this episode of Behind the Logbook supported by Sporty's Pilot Shop:
“Wait, what do I say?” Student pilots Brittany and Emily take on the fear of using the push-to-talk button. After stumbling over some phrases, watch them practice and learn proper air traffic control communications over the radios. The student pilots also experience a gap in flight training due to certain life situations but with good instruction they get right back into the left seat!

Same look, I'm guessing, that we all had the first time...priceless, as you say.
