I have been in an LSA high wing, but that experience would not sway me in the least. There are too many other considerations to balance out as in all of the flight characteristic of the plane. Your comfort and that of your companion are the singularly most important considerations. Keep all of your flying skills current otherwise you will have a problem.

David,
I fly a Piper Cherokee 180D and must face loading and unloading myself on each flight. Yes, the hips can be a problem but use the step behind the trailing edge of the right wing. I have found a short work step to position you a little higher helps. The glare shield has a depression, both on the right and left, used as a hand hold; helps the passenger and the pilot get off the seat and aim at the door. Working your way from the right seat to the left seat can also utilize the hand hold. oh! I am 85 years experiencing life. Still flying occasionally but always with another pilot.

John,
Do you have recent experience with getting into, out of, or flying a high wing?  Just wondering if you were purchasing one today it getting into and out of would be significant in your choice?
